Graphic Novels are common place these days, but how did they begin? The success of the graphic novel can be attributed to three specific comics: Dark Knight Returns, by Frank Miller and Klaus Janson, Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, and Maus by Art Spiegelman. We'll discuss the events that led to these comics, the graphic novels themselves, and how they've changed the comic book industry.
